Always Alert

"Always Alert" freezes a powerful moment in time, capturing the intense focus of a bird of prey as it surveys its domain. This sculpture embodies vigilance and readiness, transforming any room into a stage for nature's quiet drama. It is a compelling statement piece for collectors who appreciate both artistic vision and the untamed spirit of the wild.
The sculpture’s story is told through its masterful blend of textures and forms. The body, carved from a wide piece of Mesquite, displays the artist’s signature "Carter head" and straight-line texturing, adding a unique, stylized identity to the piece. The wider-than-usual wings, forged from cast bronze, stretch out with commanding presence, their polished surfaces reflecting light to enhance the sense of poised energy. The entire form is balanced on a square tube support and anchored by a solid grey granite base, which has been artfully trimmed to complement the sculpture's dynamic posture.
"Always Alert" is more than a static object; it is a narrative of perception and power. The bird's alert stance invites admiration for its keen senses and majestic presence.
